Porch View is designed and developed by Jay Hughes in downtown Oxford, MS. Jay is a man of many talents and professions including ownership of a very successful law practice, developer, restaurant owner, chef and political activist to name a few, but gives full regard to them all. Jay is both a friend to so many in Oxford, and a friend of Oxford serving in many local leadership roles.

Jay grew up in Louisiana, but has spent most of his adult life in Oxford with wife Cris and daughter Patricia, now attending college in Vermont. Although mostly residing in Oxford, Jay has had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe and reside in other areas of the US for short periods of time. These travels, combined with growing up in the “Low Country” have afforded him so many design aspects new to our area, but timeless in nature!

Jay has been involved in the design phases, planning and development of hundreds of Oxford’s most loved properties, which include condominium developments tailored to our weekenders and residents retiring to our beautiful city (Soleil Condominiums, The Cottages at Grand Oaks and L’Acadian) and custom homes in many areas of Oxford (Woodlawn, Woodland Hills, St Charles Place and Grand Oaks). Although, some of Jay’s most rewarding projects have been custom homes in the downtown area and custom restorations of historic homes contributing to our downtown ambience. These include numerous projects on North 14th Street, Sisk Avenue, Washington Avenue and North Lamar Avenue. Jay treats each property with its own identity and provides attention to detail tailored to buyer’s desires and providing lasting charm.

And now, Jay’s new vision is the transformation of North 15th Street with Porch View! This not only is an exciting adventure for Jay, but for residents of Oxford to enjoy for years to come.
